Amigo

Amigo is more than a restaurant—it is a story of family, resilience, and the sea.

Founded in 1985 in Cap Malheureux by Ambigah Parasuraman, Amigo quickly became a landmark seafood restaurant in Mauritius. With his warm smile and passion for the ocean, Ambigah transformed the freshest catch—lobsters, Giant prawns, and fish—into unforgettable culinary experiences, making Amigo a destination for seafood lovers across the island and beyond.

When Ambigah passed away too soon, his spouse took on the challenge of continuing his legacy while raising their three young sons. With courage and determination, she preserved not just a restaurant but the soul of Amigo, a place defined by generosity, authenticity, and excellence.

Today, that flame is proudly carried by the second generation, known as the Amigo Brothers—Kavinen, Yovissen, and Kovishen Parasuraman. Together, they bring renewed energy and vision, blending heritage and innovation to ensure Amigo remains Mauritius’ iconic seafood dining experience. From hand-picked daily catch to refined wine pairings, every detail is crafted with precision and passion.

For nearly 40 years, Amigo has welcomed loyal Mauritian families and distinguished international guests alike. Among them, French President Jacques Chirac, singer Christophe Maé, actress Emmanuelle Béart, host Julien Lepers, and singer Chantal Goya have all experienced Amigo’s timeless charm.

Amigo is not just where seafood is served—it is where stories are shared, friendships are built, and legends dine.
